It is the first suspension bridge of the Bosphorus and the fifth of the Marmara Region. The bridge, which is a part of the Malkara-Çanakkale Highway, was put into service on March 18, 2022. With a mid-span length of 2,023 meters, it surpassed the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge in Japan, making it the world’s longest mid-span suspension bridge.
