Since its foundation, its funds have been subject to various movements. Once its installation in the Instruction services began, passing through the São Miguel fortress, in 1958, it was said that on a provisional basis, it would go to the basement of the building of the then Angola Museum, today the National Museum of Natural History. All changes, naturally, will have caused considerable losses. In 1977, the Archive was transferred to the building in which it remains today, located at Rua Pedro Félix Machado nº 49 R/C, in Luanda.
