The Indian city of Badrinath in the state of Uttarakhand, located at an altitude above 3000 meters, on the foothills of the Himalayas. Badrinath is a very important pilgrimage town. There is one of the most visited temples in northern India, the Ashtapad Jain temple. The city is crossed by the Alaknanda river, one of the main sources of the Ganges.
