City of Sihanoukville in Cambodia seen from the sky

Sihanoukville (Khmer: Krong Preah Sihanuk) is a city in southern Cambodia, capital of the province of Sihanoukville. Overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, the city is the only deep sea port in the country. Previously designated Kampong Saom (literally “pleasant port”), it was renamed in 1958 in honor of Norodom Sihanouk, former king of Cambodia.
