Breast cancer is a type of cancer that originates in the cells of the breast. It primarily affects women but can also occur in men, albeit rarely. It’s the most common cancer among women globally and a leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Breast cancer can develop in different parts of the breast, including the ducts that carry milk to the nipple (ductal carcinoma) or the glands that produce milk (lobular carcinoma).
