Krivoye is a lake in the Ushachsky district of the Vitebsk region. Included in the Ushachskaya group of lakes. Together with the adjacent territories, it forms a hydrological reserve of the same name of republican significance. It is one of the deepest lakes in Belarus. The name of the lake comes from the complex shape of the basin and coastline – numerous stretches, bays, spits protruding into the lake, capes, islets and narrow deep channels – confirm the name. The structure of the basin is very complex. The maximum depths are confined to the northern and southern reaches, 20 m depths are noted in the northwest and southwest. Deep-water depressions alternate with “droughts” – shallow-water straits.
