Spinning Tiles by Fizzrock Studio is an Adobe After Effects template that creates a 4K animated Message Board, composed of a grid of tiles that rotate on a horizontal axis. Alphanumeric characters (letters, numbers, or symbols) or images can be used in the tiles for the “Start” or “End” of the animation. Using a modular structure, any number of Message Board segments can be used in the final edit.

Two project versions are included: Jumbo and Large. The Jumbo version uses up to 377 tiles in the Message Board, but requires more time to render. The Large version features up to 275 tiles. The Jumbo version is a large project file; a minimum of 8 core CPU and 32GB of memory is recommended.

This project uses random numbers as a primary method of selecting one of six different rotation animations for individual tiles. By adjusting random seed values, a new series of random numbers can be chosen, thus shuffling the effects of the random numbers on the tiles. The speed (and speed curve) of the rotations are easily modified if needed. Every shot is unique.
Adjust the size, color, fill, stroke of the tile text
Start with alphanumeric characters or a still image, and End with different characters or a different still image.
Characters can include uppercase letters, numbers, or symbols.
When using End characters, the tiles rotate and automatically display characters intelligently offset from the Start to the End character.
When using an End image, the tiles rotate and automatically display random sections of the End image until the final tile rotations.
Implement additional random rotation features to make each tile rotate uniquely.
Rotate tiles from the top or bottom in one click.
Use an adjustable textured background for character tiles, a solid color, or a custom image.
Isolate the text without the tile base to create fun typography
Use tiles as elements, such as lower-thirds, titles, etc.

Enter Start and End text in easy-to-use controls. Use two asterisks ( ** ) to create a blank tile. Settings layout adjusts as changes are made, such as tile size, etc.

Update: Version 1.1 – fixed a bug that could cause some tiles to not display an image section properly.
