Beshenkovichi is an urban village with a population of less than seven thousand people, 50 kilometers west of Vitebsk. This is a former river port on the Western Dvina, and now the regional center of the Beshenkovichi district. Beshenkovichi is located on both sides of the Western Dvina. There was a ferry service between the banks, now from one part of the town to another, depending on the season, you can cross a pontoon bridge or make a boat crossing.
