Lake Baranovskoye is located in the Gorodok district of the Vitebsk region, 11 km southeast of the town of Gorodok, near the village of Konovalovo and belongs to the Luzhesnyanka river basin. The terrain is flat, in places ridge, almost treeless, in places overgrown with bushes and woodlands. The shores are sandy, elevated, in places overgrown with bushes (alder, willow, hazel). In the north the river Zachernovskaya flows into, in the south-west it is connected by a narrow channel with Lake Butyki. Lake Dolzhanskoe (Sosno) is located in the Vitebsk district of the Vitebsk region, 18 km north-west of the city of Vitebsk, between the villages of Dolzha and Shily belongs to the Luzhesnyanka river basin. In the north, it is connected by a wide channel with Lake Butyki.
