Western Dvina River And The City Of Vitebsk 04

The Western Dvina is the deepest river flowing in Vitebsk. The river enters the city in the north-west (near the Tiraspol, Davydovka microdistricts), flows through the city forming a horseshoe, and leaves the city in the south-west, near the DSK (Markovshchina) and Tarny microdistricts. In the city, the river is navigable for some types of ships; the Vitebsk river port is located on it. Within the city, there are 3 road bridges (Kirovsky, Blokhin and KIMovsky, the last two with tram traffic) and 2 double railway bridges across the Zapadnaya Dvina.
